An automatic rifle, ammunition and Special Weapons and Tacticsgear stolen from a Sheriff’s Office marked patrol car were recovered overnightduring the course of an active investigation into the vehicle burglary.
The Sheriff’s Office received information overnight whichled to the recovery of the M4 rifle, theammunition stolen from the car and the SWAT tactical gear. Two handguns – a Glock.40 caliber and a Glock .45 caliber – are still missing. Detectives arecontinuing their investigation today, working to identify a suspect and recoverthe other weapons.
“We are optimistic that we will make an arrest in this caseand recover the other weapons,” said Sheriff Bob Peryam. “We have committed allavailable resources to making sure these weapons are taken off the street andthat someone is held responsible for this crime.”
