Key Largo – A Key Largo man is under arrest, charged withsexually molesting a young girl.
The girl, who is now in her teens, told detectives from theSheriff’s Major Crimes Unit that 50 year old Juan Carlos Molina molested herrepeatedly between June of 2005 and January of 2007 when she was between theages of 8 and 10.
She said the molestation stopped when she and her familymoved away from Key Largo. She said he contacted her recently, and she and herfamily met with him briefly in Homestead. She said the visit made her veryuncomfortable and, afterward, she decided to tell her mother what had happened.
After investigating the case, detectives obtained a warrantfor Molina’s arrest. He was picked up by Miccosukee Police, then was broughtback to Monroe County Wednesday to face charges. Molina is charged with threecounts sexual battery on a child; three counts lewd and lascivious molestationof a child and one count lewd and lascivious exhibition.
