An investment in training yields great dividends for thesafety of citizens and the law enforcement professionals who are committed to protectingthem. Today, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office spoke with members of thelocal media about our commitment to train for unexpected andviolent attacks such as the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado, early this morning. Evenwith the best training, tragic events still occur. But Sarasota County citizenscan be assured that training is a year-round process for all Sheriff’sOffice personnel; from entry-level instruction, to in-service training andspecialized preparation for particular threats. Training never stops, anddespite tight budgets, training and equipping themen and women of the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office remains a top priority.
