Check this shirt. Disco dancers on the front of it are silhouetted against an LED background that actually lights up like volume meters, when you hear loud music.

But that's not the HOT tee from L.A.-based Wicky Tees...not the hottest, anyway.


The biggest showstopper at the San Francisco Giants' victory parade might have been lovable relief pitcher Sergio Romo's T-shirt. Or more precisely, the message on the front: "I just look illegal."


Not everyone thinks this is funny, naturally.

Humor can be funny that way.


But here's the thing. What's really, really, really not funny is the fact that we are a nation of immigrants, and immigrants work five times as hard as any of us sitting in front of a computer for a living. All one has to do is look around ---these are the people tending the land, absorbing the pesticides through their skins, dying from heat exhaustion because there's no water available in 110 degree heat out in the fields, living 14 to a room in shitty apartments because they want to make a little scratch to keep their kids and old folks alive. That's what "family values" looks like, and to see immigrants getting bashed the way they do just kills me, because if there were no immigrants in Southern California, I would have fled this joint a million years ago. These are sweet, good people, and not only that, they're beautiful, attractive people---is any of this just white jealousy over the utter gorgeousness of glowing brown skin? Or what??? What is it? Where does the hate come from? I don't get it.

All I know is, don't go to Loma Linda UMC East Hospital if you even look like you might be from somewhere else. Because you might wind up with Nurse George, and look what he had to say at the Riverside Press Enterprise recently:
